Special GR is granted in kind (Wheat / Rice) as emergency relief for a temporary period to the marooned people out of any 12 notified calamities under SDRF norms namely   cyclone, drought, earthquake, fire, flood tsunami, hailstorm, landslide, avalanche, cloud burst, pest attack, frost & cold wave. It is also provided to people affected by 14 State Specific Disasters namely lightening, accidental fire, drowning due to natural calamity / accidental drowning, boat capsize, tornado / thunderstorm, death due to poisonous animal bite, heat wave, electrocution, fall of tree, wild animal attack, structure / house / wall collapse, river and coastal erosion, forest fire and heavy rainfall.
