Financial assistance is provided to the victims for rebuilding their houses which are damaged due to the 12 notified calamities under SDRF norms namely cyclone, drought, earthquake, fire, flood tsunami, hailstorm, landslide, avalanche, cloud burst, pest attack, frost & cold wave. Besides, as per the notification of State Specific Disasters vide No – 2120-DMCD/2025, Dated - 25.08.2025 this grant is also provided to indigent persons whose houses are damaged due to the notified state specific disasters.
The indigence of a person applying for House Building Grant is determined on account of his/her lack of financial resources to rebuild or repair the damaged / destroyed house without financial assistance from the Government.
